Here’s a very brief interview I did with Daniel Kuhn from CoinDesk on the topic of cryptocurrency and blockchain technologies. I’m not an advocate of these technologies strictly speaking, nor specific implementations such as Bitcoin. But I do think they raise interesting questions about political economy and the nature of money that are worth exploring in more depth. The interview was cut down substantially, but it’s probably better for me to expand on the thoughts it sketches in more detail elsewhere.

Just in case you’re wondering, I do not nor have ever owned any cryptocurrency. Like many people, I can remember the precise moment in 2010 when I briefly considered buying some Bitcoin but thought better of it. How things might have been.
