Book Launch, Substack, and Other News

A couple updates for readers.

There will be an impromptu book launch for The Revenge of Reason at Newcastle University on the 25th of February, from 5-7pm in HDB.1.02 in the Henry Daysh Building. I’ll be having a conversation about the book with Jacob Parkin, followed by a Q&A. Please do come along if you’re in the area.

I’ve also started a substack where I’m hoping to post some more public facing writing over the next few months. First up is a long form review of Leif Weatherby’s Language Machines. I’m hoping to do a few more book reviews if I can find the time, and have some other thoughts on politics and AI I’d like to put down.

Finally, I’m going to be moving to Japan for around 6 months, starting in March. I’ll be living in Yokohama, so if there are any Japanese readers who’d like to get in touch let me know!
